Eddie Murphy has made some of the funniest movies ever.
Murphy ranks as one of the highest grossing film stars in the history of Hollywood movies, having appeared in over 33 films, his films grossing over US$3.4 billion in the US alone, averaging US$104 million per film. Some of Eddie's earlier movies from the 1980's include 48 Hours, Trading Places and Best Defense. Many of Eddie Murphy's movies have received Golden Globe Award nominations for best actor in a comedy or musical for his performances in Beverly Hills Cop, Trading Places, and The Nutty Professor. In 2007, Eddie won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of soul singer James "Thunder" Early in Dreamgirls and received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for the same role.
